Checklist
Answer-ready content checklist
Answer engines reward content that answers a question completely and concisely near where the question is asked. This checklist turns that principle into concrete editing passes.
01Question-first structure
- Each major section is framed around one real question your audience asks.
- A direct answer appears immediately after the question heading — before elaboration.
- Answers stand alone: someone reading only that passage gets the full point.
02Extractability
- Use short paragraphs (2–4 sentences) around key facts.
- Prefer declarative sentences over marketing hedging.
- Define terms on first use; avoid pronoun-heavy chains that lose context out of order.
- Summarize multi-step processes as ordered lists alongside the prose.
03Completeness & trust
- Cover the obvious follow-up questions on the same page.
- Date-stamp content that changes over time and keep it current.
- Attribute expertise clearly — who wrote/reviewed this and why that's credible.
